Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most frequently used kinds of crane within the construction business. They are utilized to construct everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to buildings and skyscrapers.
Cranes come in a wide range of units, styles and sizes. These various models allow the owner and operators to perform many more functions in their business. Choosing the best type of crane is crucial for making sure that the material can be efficiently and safely moved to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to begin.
Truck Cranes
Truck cranes will typically have 2 different cabs. One cab is used to drive the truck unit when in transport mode, whereas the other is for controlling the crane. These cranes are very useful for building sites where a crane is needed in numerous different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be easily driven from one location to another.
Cranes could also be transported to various construction locations on the road because they drive themselves, that eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really reduces transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane can handle. Therefore, to be able to fix this problem, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers make use of hydraulic pressure in order to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the base of the crane. These huge tracks are very similar to bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to successfully move around a construction locations.
