Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to lift the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard forklifts aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, while a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is designed to lift staff is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a chain or strap is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
